Our clients were adamant about wanting a unique and eye catching landscape to complement the contemporary architecture of their home. Designers Nicole and Lauren were inspired by an adjacent prairie planting and thought a landscape comprised of native perennials would be both eco-friendly and allow the home’s architecture to stand out. The homeowner loved the prospect of colorful, pollinator friendly flowers from spring to fall! Modern corten retaining walls, interspersed with chunky limestone slabs, accentuate the lines of the home and provide nighttime interest as well (the cutouts in the steel are lit from behind!). A triple column basalt fountain near the front door is prominently displayed atop a custom steel box enclosing the fountain basin.
